Prince Edward Island Oysters
PEI oysters are exported and known worldwide, with our cold and clean waters making them some of the freshest oysters in the world. Fisherman farm these oysters year round. The Landmark Oyster House will carry 3-5 varieties daily, giving you a nice selection that you can tour our Island. Each oyster is unique in its flavours, texture, and size. Oysters take on the characteristics of the body of water they are growing in, making shucking and eating oysters a truly unique PEI experience. Let Marly and her staff tell you PEIs Oyster love story.
“He was a bold man who first ate an oyster” - Jonathan Swift
In June 2016, Greg, Marly, and their daughter Piper drove from Charlottetown into Victoria By The Sea, and instantly fell in love. They knew it was going to be apart of their future. Victoria By The Sea is a special place, where people stroll the streets, shop, and enjoy the fishing boats coming in and out of the harbour.
They bought the old Victoria Church, that was built in 1877, and restored it. In doing so, they created a stunning destination wedding and events venue, Grand Victorian. The entire restoration took about 8 months. They then bought a house in the heart of the village in 2018.
The next chapter for them was the opportunity to purchase this business which was formally the Landmark Cafe. It was family owned & run for almost 30 years. Now it has become Landmark Oyster House Marly worked in an Oyster House in Charlottetown for almost 5 years shucking oysters and gaining knowledge in food, wine and most importantly customer service.
“I have a real love for oysters, food, wine, and people. I love the look on a guests face when you put a beautiful plate in front of them. The different people you meet daily and the conversations you have with them is a real part of this industry and business journey” - Marly Anderson
Marly met Chef Kaela working together in the same Oyster House. Chef Kaela Barnett has been a huge part of building the Anderson’s weddings and events business. Gaining a real reputation for beautiful and delicious wedding food. Her skill level and passion for food is truly incredible.
